Summary

   

1.1

The Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel advises the Executive Member (Policy & Resources) that authority should be given to:

   
 

i) the disposal of 1.06ha (2.6 acres) at the former Worting Infant School, Old Kemphott Lane, Basingstoke to the preferred developer as set out in the report; and

   
 

ii) that the Director of Property Business and Regulatory Services (Head of Estates) be authorised to settle the detailed terms and conditions of the sale, including such adjustments to the purchase price that may be agreed following minor amendments to the scheme.

Reason

   

2.1

This transaction would enable reinvestment on improvements to Chiltern Primary School.

   

2.2

This decision supports the following Aims of the Corporate Strategy

   
 

Aim 2 - Stewardship of the environment by encouraging good design and environmental safeguards as part of the proposed development

   
 

Aim 4 - Building strong and safe communities by encouraging good design for security

   
 

Aim 5 - Improving services by financing the extension, refurbishment and modernisation of Chiltern Primary School from the capital receipt from the sale of surplus property
