1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
That the attached Project Appraisal for the construction of a new footway adjacent to the A33 from Sherfield Park Roundabout to Sherfield Court, Sherfield-on-Loddon and linking with existing footways at each end, to be externally funded at an estimated cost of £53,000, be approved.
2. Reason
2.1 This decision supports Aims 2 and 4 (Stewardship of the Environment and Building Strong and Safe Communities) of the Corporate Strategy by creating a new 400 metre long footway link between the new housing development, approximately 800 houses, at Sherfield Park with the Parish Church at Church End, Sherfield Court.
3. Other Options Considered and Rejected
3.1 Taking no action was rejected as the existing grass verge is unsuitable for pedestrians and deters pedestrian movements.
