1. Introduction

1.1 As part of the service planning process, and in support of Aim 5 of the Corporate Strategy (Improving Services) the Annual Report reviews the activities and key achievements of the Recreation and Heritage Department during the year 2004/05.

1.2 The attached Annual Report has been produced by the Marketing Team with contributions from staff across the department.

1.3 This year the format of the main body of the report has been changed. Instead of reporting on activities of each service separately, the new format brings activities and initiatives together in seven key themes, reflecting some of the main aims of the Recreation and Heritage Department.

1.4 The attached report is provided as a document. Colour proofs of the artwork will be made available at Policy Review Committee and Decision Day meetings.

Recommendation

That the Recreation and Heritage Annual Report be noted and submitted to the Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage for her consideration.
