Summary

   

1.1

The following decision is sought:

   
 

That the Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage recommends to the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the design project appraisal for The Leigh Park Crafts Initiative scheme at an estimated cost of £662,000, excluding fees, be approved.

Reasons

   

2.1

To enable a community facility which achieves economic prosperity through the availability of flexible training accommodation and access to lifelong learning.

   

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 3 of the Corporate Strategy by providing new accommodation which enables crafts initiatives and by creating an environment appropriate for training and skill development.

3.1

The need for the facilities provided by this scheme has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
