1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
That the attached Project Appraisal for implementation of the Safer Routes to School scheme in the vicinity of Four Marks CE Primary School, at an estimated cost of £140,000, be approved, subject to an amendment being made to the Environment Capital Programme.
2. Reason
2.1 This decision supports Aims 2 and 4 (Stewardship of the Environment and Building Strong and Safe Communities) of the Corporate Strategy by improving conditions for pedestrians, particularly those on the journey to school and thus providing a safe alternative to the motor vehicle for such journeys.
3. Other Options Considered and Rejected
3.1 Just delivering the Safer Routes to School elements of the scheme was considered. However these would make no impact if the ponding/flooding problems were not rectified first.
4. Conflicts of Interest Declared by the Decision Maker or Other Executive Member Consulted - None.
5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee - Not applicable.
6. Reason(s) for the Matter being dealt with if Urgent - Not applicable.
