Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the design project appraisal for the works at the Trosnant Infant and Junior School campus at an estimated cost of up to £585,000 excluding fees.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide a purpose-built unit offering 36 new full day-care places for children aged between three months and five years within a disadvantaged area of Hampshire.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities for all users of the school.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
