1 Summary
1.1 The following decisions are sought:
a) That Members be appointed to serve on the Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE) until the annual meeting of the County Council in May 2009 as follows:

b) That the Chief Executive be given authority to appoint new Members to the above groups of SACRE as necessary in the interim period.
2 Reason
The constitution of SACRE requires its Members to be appointed by Hampshire County Council as the Local Education Authority. Members of the above groups were last appointed in June 2001 for a period of four years.
A review will be undertaken to look at the constitution of SACRE and at the process of Member recruitment with a report of the findings to go to a subsequent meeting.
