The attached report to Cabinet on 23 January 2006 details the backlog of street lighting column replacement in the county and considers options for addressing any backlog. The paper examines the background to the current situation, sets out the findings of a technical study of Hampshire street lighting data together with the results of a financial feasibility study. It also proposes that a funding bid be made to the Department for Transport through its Private Finance Initiative.
Recommendation
That the Committee considers this report and offers any comments which it believes the Cabinet should take into account in making a decision.
