Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the Executive Member for Education approves the design project appraisal for the Rowner Youth Services - new facility, at an estimated cost of up to £345,000 excluding fees.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide a purpose-built, stand-alone youth building to provide a variety of opportunities for the young people of Rowner to engage in positive activities.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities for all users of the school.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
