Summary of Bid (Details of proposed activity the money will be spent on) |
The project will enable the East Hampshire Community Learning Forum to: · Audit existing ICT facilities, training and support available in East Hampshire · Identify gaps in the provision including in the rural areas of East Hampshire · Raise awareness of the project through extensive community publicity · Pilot the scheme in the Central, (Petersfield and district) area of East Hampshire and cascade the project to the other 3 geographical areas in succession, (North East, South and North West) · Verify and publicise information through the networks of the Community Learning Forum · Provide information via websites The East Hampshire Community Learning Forum, (a sub-group of the East Hampshire Community Partnership) will oversee this project. The project worker will work on the Forum's behalf for 2 days per week for the first year and be employed by Community First East Hampshire, the local Council for Voluntary Service. This will add value to the project through the use of their extensive networks. |

The funding from Hampshire LSP would support some of the costs of the first year of the project, due to commence in April 2006. |
How does this bid support the targets within the Community Strategy? |
This project supports targets within both East Hampshire's and Hampshire's Community Strategy as well as contributing to the Local Area Agreements through the well-being/community engagement agenda. Specifically for the Hampshire LSP targets: Strong and Safe communities; · Reducing inequalities and encouraging community involvement through local decision making and e-government - through improved knowledge of ICT provision and skills in its use Environment, infrastructure and transport · Addressing mobility and accessibility issues - through an audit of existing provision of ICT particularly needed in rural East Hampshire · Promoting sustainable development - by maximising the use of existing ICT resources Economic Prosperity and Life Long Learning · Improve skills training for staff and volunteers, and strengthening the contribution that volunteers make to communities - by providing a range of learning opportunities and publicising the project through the networks of the Community Learning Forum and Community First East Hampshire · Addressing the learning needs of people in Hampshire - by offering a range of learning opportunities in their local area · Providing adequate skills and training for staff - particularly through involving staff of voluntary and community groups Health and Well-being · Providing equal access to services, and improving opportunities for culture and leisure for all - through greater understanding of internet use and knowledge about facilities And for East Hampshire's targets this project will: · Increase access to services, facilities and workplaces - through knowledge about existing ICT provision, identifying and filling gaps and the provision of a range of learning opportunities · Help communities to be happy with their towns and village centres - through increased awareness of ICT provision and training and facilities and stronger community cohesion. | |

Budget for yr 1 Salary costs inc travel 12,500 Publicity for project (phone 500, post, copy 1500, printing 1000 3,000 Contribution to identified training costs 2,000 IT costs to produce website costs 2,500 Project management & accommodation 7,000 Total 27,000 Partner contributions for Year 1: Community First is providing the office 7,000 base and overseeing the project in support of the project EHDC £2,000 HCC (R&H) £10,000 (for yr I only, future yrs £5k) The balance of £8,000 from the LSP fund will mostly fund the actual project and IT costs. | |
