How does this bid support the targets within the Community Strategy? |
Winchester's Community Strategy includes as one of its four key priorities the need to improve access: " we will work together to improve access to services for all in our communities, including those with disabilities and those who live in rural areas." This also includes access to meet the needs of people from minority groups. In addition the Social Inclusion chapter prioritises the need to: "work to address prejudice and promote inclusive communities that value diversity". This is in line with the Hampshire Community Strategy's stated aim to "meet the needs of people from diverse communities". The draft Local Area Agreement for Hampshire also includes under the priority for empowering local people an action area to build the capacity of BME communities to be involved in community activity. |
