1. Summary
The following decisions are sought:
· That Councillor Mrs Pat West be appointed as the County Council representative on the Mid Hampshire Primary Care Trust (PCT)
· That Councillor Alan Weeks be appointed as the County Council representative on the Hangar Farm Arts Centre Management Consultative Committee, and that in future, the Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage make the necessary appointment.
2. Reason
To maintain County Council representation within the community.
Mid Hampshire Primary Care Trust (PCT)
On 16 May 2005 the Executive Member for Policy and Resources appointed Councillor Mrs Elaine Still to this PCT. Following this appointment Councillor Elaine Still has indicated that she wishes to stand down. Councillor Mrs Pat West has previously represented the County Council on the PCT and is willing to do so again.
Hangar Farm Arts Centre Management Consultative Committee
Hangar Farm Arts Centre is a new arts centre in Totton which is run by Totton College. It is used by the local community. The County Council, via the Recreation and Heritage capital fund, made a grant of £40,000 towards the costs of building the arts centre 2/3 years ago.
The Centre has asked if the County Council would appoint a representative onto their Management Consultative Committee. It would be useful to have feedback on the Centre's progress which is primarily a local arts facility. The Recreation and Heritage Service have suggested that Councillor Alan Weeks as local ward Member be appointed to this management consultative committee. The Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage has been informally consulted and is supportive of this appointment.
3. Other Options considered and Rejected Not to make the appointments.
4. Conflicts of interest declared by the decision maker or other Executive Member consulted None.
5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee None.
6. Reason(s) for the matter being dealt with if urgent Not applicable.
