1. At the May 2004 County Council meeting it was agreed that in future all items in the Forward Plan would be considered by the appropriate Policy Review Committee before consideration by the Cabinet or individual Executive Members. Key decisions on which the Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel currently advised the Leader would be excluded. This report presents for Members' consideration and information an item to be considered by Cabinet on 20 March 2006.
2. The attached report considers the Hampshire Minerals and Waste Local Development Framework - Core Strategy which has to be submitted to the First Secretary of State for consideration and subsequent examination before a planning inspector. This is a statutory requirement of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004 and includes a six week public consultation process which is scheduled to start in May 2006. The May 2006 submission date is a commitment made by the County Council in the Hampshire Minerals and Waste Development Scheme which came into effect in July 2005.
Recommendation
That the Committee considers this report and offers any comments which it believes the Cabinet should take into account in making its decision.
