Distance measurement to the bus stop for `detached' catchment area. This criterion is intended to avoid a situation where children in the detached area will always live furthest from the school.

Hayling

In catchment priority to applicants furthest from Langstone Bridge. Hayling School is in the northern part of Hayling. This criterion means that, if there is oversubscription, those living nearest the bridge will also live nearest to alternative schools.

Hounsdown

Priority to catchment west of A326. This means that those pupils living in the New Forest some distance from the school will be given priority over those who live nearer to Hounsdown but who also live nearer an alternative school.

Priestlands

Out-catchment distances measured to catchment area boundary. This criterion ensures that those who live furthest from the school and also furthest from alternative schools will be given priority.

Wavell
