Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the project to remodel the school frontage to improve access and provide additional parking at an estimated cost of up to £533,599, excluding fees, be approved.

Reason

2.1

To provide enhanced vehicular and pedestrian circulation thus improving site safe and accessibility, whilst increasing the car parking provision on this shared school site.

2.2

This decision supports Aim 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit all users of the school.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
