Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Education approves the internal modification and refurbishment project at the Testbourne Community School, at an estimated cost of up to £248,276, excluding fees.

Reason

2.1

To improve the performing arts facilities at the school, which has achieved Specialist School Status for performing arts.

2.2

This decision supports Aim 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit all users of the school.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
