1. Summary
1.1 The following Decision is sought:
That the Dance Bursary Scheme remains suspended for 2006/07.
2. Reason
2.1 The current scheme is in suspension, however continuing support of students currently in training is achievable within budget.
2.2 Further, the draft Arts Strategy 2006-11 proposed a review of vocational training and the development of a new scheme for this field. Re-advertising the current scheme and adding new students to the roster at this point would constrain Members' ability to implement any new scheme should they wish.
3. Other options considered and rejected
- To stop the funding the current scheme altogether.
4. Conflicts of interest declared by the decision maker or other Executive Member consulted - None.
5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee - Not applicable.
6. Reason(s) for the matter being dealt with if urgent - Not applicable.
