1. Summary

1.1 This report considers applications for financial assistance for 2005/06 and 2006/07 from voluntary groups and other organisations working in the field of sport and physical recreation. It recommends the distribution of £9,089 as the remaining funding from 2005/06 and £157,700 as an initial tranche for 2006/07. Further grant applications are anticipated later in the year from groups who are not yet ready to submit.

2. Background

4. Financial Situation 2006/07

4.1 The base budget for grants in 2006/07 is £183,200. Grant recommendations totalling £157,700 are listed in column d in Appendix 2. £25,500 remains available for allocation later in the year.

5. Impact Assessment

5.1 Race and equality impact assessment has been considered in the assessment of these applications. No adverse impact has been identified.

Recommendation

That partnership funding totalling £9,089 is distributed from the 2005/06 budget as set out in Appendix 1 and partnership funding totalling £157,700 is distributed from the 2006/07 budget as set out in Appendix 2.
