1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

i) That the Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage approve the Draft Arts Strategy 2006-11

2. Reason

i) To clearly lay out the strategic vision for the Arts as it relates to the Council's Corporate and Cultural Strategies

ii) To set the framework for ongoing relationships with partners in the District and Unitary Councils in the Southampton Hampshire Isle of Wight and Portsmouth (SHIPS) sub region and Arts Council England

iii) To set out clearly the framework for developing partnerships with the arts and creative community in Hampshire.

iv) To deliver the strategy as agreed by the Executive Member on 20 January 2005.
