1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That the project to establish a Partnership Board for Culture be approved and that a formal review of the progress of the project be undertaken in September 2007.

2. Reasons

2.1 The attached report will be considered by the Recreation and Heritage Policy Review Committee on 23 March 2006. It informs members about a current initiative to develop the partnership working between the Recreation and Heritage Services and other cultural agencies. In particular it details a joint project with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Arts Council England, South East to establish a Partnership Board that would enable a more cohesive strategic approach to the development of cultural services to be taken.

2.2 The report seeks endorsement for the continuation of this work and suggests that progress is reviewed formally in September 2007.
