Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the design project appraisal for the works at Highfield House, Bishopstoke at an estimated cost of up to £431,000, excluding fees, be approved.

Reason(s)

2.1

To enable a greatly enhanced respite care service for adults with learning disabilities and be able to cater for those people whom may also have a physical disability.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing new and improved specialist accommodation at this residential respite unit which will have an immediate benefit for the service users and the local community.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need of the respite unit for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
