Summary of Bid (Details of proposed activity the money will be spent on)	The bid is for a grant towards the costs of a proposed family multi-cultural event on 30 July 2006 at Royal Victoria Country Park, which is owned and managed by Hampshire County Council. The event is being organised by Arts Asia, a long established company which works to promote and develop high quality South Asian arts, music and dance across Hampshire. The event on 30 July will celebrate world arts and culture through music and dance performances by local, national and international artists. A wide range of communities will be involved, in particular Asian, Chinese and Afro-Caribbean. There will also be a selection of ethnic food stalls and information stands to further enhance the event and opportunities for visitors to take part in educational workshops and demonstrations.
Timescale (anticipated period over which the money will be spent)	Most of the money will be spent during the 2/3 months leading up to the event, but some may be spent in August.
How does this bid support the targets within the Community Strategy?	This event supports the HSP Community Strategy in that it promotes strong and safe communities, community cohesion and community engagement. It also supports the Eastleigh Community Strategy's vision and one of eight themes, namely leisure, in that the aim is to provide recreational opportunities for all residents.
Overall funding arrangements (please specify total cost of project and the amounts contributed from other partners)	The total project cost is £35,000 , of which £21,000 is on high quality staging and artists' costs.
