INQUIRIES RECEIVED AND ACTION TAKEN

1. The Committee continues to receive inquiries from various bodies and members of the public. At the last meeting Members were alerted to inquiries about The Ambulance Service Estates Strategy; Aldershot Centre for Health, Return of routine neurology referrals, Transfer of upper Gastro Intestinal cancer surgery from Frimley Park Hospital to Royal Surrey County Hospital, Closure of New Street Practice, Andover; The future of Redclyffe House, Gosport; Cleanliness in Hospitals; Future of the Lawns Day Hospital, Havant and the closure of Midhurst Hospital.

2. The Committee received a presentation from Hampshire Ambulance NHS Trust of the revised Ambulance Estates Strategy which had taken account of matters previously raised by the Committee. The Trust, in its presentation demonstrated that that the revised proposals would lead to a better and more efficient service and Members concluded that the revised strategy was not now a substantial change to the service.

3. This supports aims 1, 4 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by enabling opportunities to be maximised and ensuring that health services continue to be improved alongside building strong and safe communities.
