Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given:

i)

To rescind the previous decision to dispose of 0.71 ha (1.75 acres) of land comprising the former Alton Day Services site at Chawton Park Road, Alton (Executive Member for Policy & Resources Item 9A 4 November 2005);

ii)

To the disposal of the above site to the preferred bidder selected from the others reported to the meeting;

iii)

The Director of Property, Business and Regulatory Services (Head of Estates) be authorised to settle the detailed terms and conditions, including any adjustments to the purchase price that may be agreed following any required amendments to the development scheme.

Reasons

2.1

To improve Adult Services day services in the locality funded by the sale of redundant property asset.

2.2

This decision supports the following Aims of the Corporate Strategy

Aim 1 - Maximising life opportunities by providing funding which will improve the Adult Services day services' provision in Alton.

Aim 2 - Stewardship of the environment by encouraging good design and environmental safeguards as part of the proposed development.

Aim 5 - Improving services by providing funding to enable an improved Day Services facility in Alton.
