1. Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought:

      (i) That a one year extension be granted in principle to the Street Lighting Maintenance Contract.

      (ii) That the Director of Environment, in consultation with the Executive Member for Environment: South Hampshire and Resource Management, concludes negotiations with the contractor on the precise details of the contract terms and conditions for the additional year.

2. Reason

2.1 This decision supports Aim 5 of the Corporate Strategy (Improving Services) by providing for an ongoing Street Lighting Maintenance Contract with continuing improvements to the quality of service and good value for money.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected

3.1 Re-tendering of the Street Lighting Maintenance Contract.
