Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given to:

1. The progress made with the Nursing care (Enhance) project.

2. The action taken on Ashburton Court to date, the forward agenda for issues, the arrangements for public consultation for the planning consent, the strategy for parking during the refurbishment, and the construction of the Park and Ride car park at Bar End, Winchester.

3. The addition to the capital repairs programme and the use of the uncommitted balance of the advantageous land budget from 2005/6 to 2006/7.

Reason(s)

2.1

To enable work to progress with the Enhance scheme, Ashburton Court refurbishment, and a range of non education capital repairs schemes.

This decision supports the following aims of the Corporate Strategy:

Aim 2 - stewardship of the environment - by providing a refurbished building that meets sustainable and efficient requirements

Aim 4 - building strong and safe communities - by working in partnership with the Strategic Health Authority and local Primary Care trusts to meet the needs of the elderly.

Aim 5 - improving services - through improved elderly care provision and providing quality accommodation that provides a flexible working environment and enables improved service delivery
