PURPOSE:
Drum4Fun is an interactive ethnic African drumming workshop for participants with no
previous experience. It contributes to the 'Be healthy' and 'Enjoy and achieve' outcomes from
every child matters. It will contribute to cultural awareness. The grant would be spent on
running two evenings a month, of three workshops each for 12 months.

Drumming activities for young people have been very successful and popular with young
people. The activity engages a broad range of young people and enables them to develop
new skills, especially team work. A grant of £4,000 is recommended.

To establish and run a drop-in centre for young people aged 11-18years, open seven evenings per week from 4.30 - 10pm. During the day the building acquired will be available for use by the Youth Service and other youth groups. The specific grant applied for will be used to equip a computer room with controlled internet access

PURPOSE:
The grant will go towards funding a joint residential with Berkshire and Isle of Wight Youth Councils, to raise awareness of both local HCYC representatives and UKYP members, to expand representation by exploiting the new district level contact system on the HCYC website, to set up a `pool' of funding which elected HCYC representatives can bid to use on local projects.
