Museum Joint Management Arrangements

1. Summary

The following decisions are sought:

1.1. That approval be given to the joint management agreement relating to Bursledon Windmill with Eastleigh Borough Council , and that the document be formally signed and sealed by the County Council.

1.2. That authority be given to the Director of Recreation and Heritage, following consultation with the Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage, to approve and sign the Service Level Agreements relating to the Aldershot Military Museum Joint Committee and the Willis Museum, Basingstoke when the necessary agreements have been received from the Rushmoor Borough Council and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council respectively.

2. Reason

2.1 To secure the continued efficient management of the jointly managed museums within a timescale which will facilitate the County Council's application for Accreditation with the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.

3. Other Options considered and rejected

3.1. Not to proceed with the joint management arrangements, which would leave relationships with the relevant borough councils uncertain and might compromise the application for Accreditation.

4. Conflicts of Interest declared by the decision maker or other Executive Member consulted

4.1. None.

5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee

5.1. None.

6. Reason(s) for the matter being dealt with if urgent
