1. Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought:

(i) That progress on the 2005/06 capital programme be noted and that amendments set out in attached Appendices 1 and 2 be approved.

(ii) That the revised 2006/07 capital programme as set out in attached Appendices 6 to 8 be approved.

2. Reason

2.1 This decision supports the delivery of the County Council's Local Transport Plan which in turn supports Aims 1 to 5 of the Corporate Strategy (Maximising Life Opportunities, Stewardship of the Environment, Achieving Economic Prosperity, Building Strong and Safe Communities and Improving Services). Environment and Waste Management strategy programmes support Corporate Aim 2 (Stewardship of the Environment).

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected

3.1 The amendments have been produced in order to make best use the funding available in the light of changes in funding availability, scheme costs and progress. It is proposed to keep the programmes broadly in line with those previously approved and the options to remove schemes from the programme have not been put forward. However, it is proposed to keep the programme under review.
