Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the design project appraisal for an extension to provide additional permanent teaching accommodation, at an estimated cost of up to £695,000, excluding fees, be approved.

Reason

2.1

To provide additional teaching accommodation, thus facilitating removal from site of existing temporary teaching accommodation, as part of the County Council's NDS Modernisation programme.

2.2

This decision supports Aim 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities which will benefit all users of the school.

3.1

The need for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost effective way of meeting that need.
