1 Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That the Adult Learning Three-Year Development Plan for 2006/2007 to 2008/2009 be approved and presented to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Learning and Skills Council for funding in 2006/2007.

2 Reason

2.1 The Adult Learning Development Plan is required by the local Learning and Skills Council in order to secure funding for the County Council's provision of adult and community learning

2.2 The Plan is presented in a format prescribed by the Learning and Skills Council and it updates and further develops the Development Plan agreed in July 2005.

2.3 The decision supports the themes of the Community Strategy for Hampshire particularly Economic prosperity and lifelong learning by securing funding for the provision of adult learning.
