Appointments to Outside Bodies

1. Summary

The following decisions are sought:

    · That Councillor Geoff Hockley be appointed as the County Council representative on the Wessex Water Customer Liaison Panel.

    · That Councillor Mrs Marilyn Tucker be appointed as the County Council representative on the Trustee Board for Tadley and District Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)

2. Reason

    To maintain County Council representation within the community.

    Wessex Water Customer Liaison Panel

    On 16 May 2005 the Executive Member for Policy and Resources appointed Councillor Adrian Evans to this Liaison Panel. He has recently indicated that he wishes to stand down. Councillor Geoff Hockley is willing to represent the County County on this Liaison Panel.

    Tadley and District Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) Trustee Board

    The Tadley and District CAB is a charity the objects of which are to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community in the Town of Tadley and parishes of Baughurst, Pamber Heath Aldermaston, Kingsclere, Silchester, Wootton St. Lawrence, Brimpton, Wasing, Padworth, Mortimer, Burghfield, Mortimer West End and surrounding areas, by the advancement of education, the protection and preservation of health and the relief of poverty, sickness and distress.

    The CAB have invited the County Council to its membership and have approached Councillor Marilyn Tucker who represents the Tadley and Baughurst division to become a Trustee. Trustees have voting rights and the County Council may appoint a deputy. There are four main meetings a year plus the AGM and Trustees are sometimes asked to sit on various sub committees.
