1. Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought:

i. The financial position for 2006/07 be noted and the managerial action to address this be endorsed

ii. The performance information for the first quarter of 2006/07 be noted

iii. That £150,000 be earmarked from the 2007/08 capital programme for the works at the Chapel, Royal Victoria Country Park

iv. A recommendation is made to the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the capital receipt from the sale of land at Solent Drive, Warsash be added to the Recreation and Heritage capital programme to part-fund the Royal Victoria Country Park Chapel repairs

v. The prospects for the 2006 Comprehensive Performance Assessment Culture block be noted

2. Reason(s)

2.1 Regular budget monitoring reports are submitted to the Executive Member throughout the year to confirm that managerial action is being taken to achieve a balanced budget position and that performance is being improved. This report presents an update on the current financial and performance situation for the Recreation and Heritage Department for 2006/07, recommend an allocation from the 2007/08 capital programme and provides an update on the Comprehensive Performance Assessment Culture block.
