AT A MEETING of the ADULT SOCIAL CARE POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE of the COUNTY COUNCIL held at The Castle Winchester on Wednesday, 27 September 2006.

63. DECLARATION OF INTEREST
Members were mindful that, where they believed they had a personal or personal prejudicial interest in any matter to be considered at the meeting, they should normally at the time of the debate declare their interest, and having regard to the circumstances described in paragraphs 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the County Council's Code of Conduct, consider whether to leave the meeting whilst the matter was discussed.

64. MINUTES
The Minutes of the meetings of the Adult Social Care Policy Review Committee held on 29 March 2006 and 24 May 2006 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.
65. CHAIRMAN'S COMMUNICATIONS
The Chairman reported receipt of a letter from Councillor Weeks about
Re-provision of Services at Stocklands Older Persons Home and requested Councillor Dowden to read the letter to members.

68. RE-PROVISION OF SERVICES AT STOCKLANDS OLDER PERSONS HOME, CALMORE, TOTTON
The Director of Adult Services presented a report, as part of the consultation process, on the re-provision of services at Stocklands Older Persons Home (Item 6 in the Minute Book). She gave details of the building and the services being provided there and outlined the consultation process and replies to the consultation received to date. Members were concerned about existing residents being happy with any alternative accommodation, alternative day centre provision being nearby and staff being offered acceptable alternatives. Members also wished to see any capital receipts from the sale of the home being retained for Adult Social Care use.
RESOLVED:
That it be a RECOMMENDATION to the Executive Member for Adult Social Care that should she agree to the re-provision of services at Stocklands Older Persons Home and day care:
(a) it be a RECOMMENDATION to the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that all capital receipts from the sale of the home be retained for Adult Services use.
(b) existing residents are consulted about alternative accommodation
(c) new day care facilities be provided as close to the existing premises as possible.
(d) staff are offered acceptable alternative employment where possible.
