ENVIRONMENT POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE

PART II

ANNUAL REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE

The Committee has reviewed and offered advice to the Executive on a variety of subjects during the year, which include:

· Local Transport Plan

· Draft South East Plan

· Hampshire Minerals and Waste Local Development Framework including Core Strategy

· Project Integra Annual Business Plan 2006 -11

· Release of Structure Plan Reserve Provision

· National Waste Strategy

· Passenger Transport Budget Strategy

· Response to Consultation Paper on Planning Policy Statement 3 : Housing

2. The Committee invited the Highways Authority to attend its meetings on two

separate occasions and received presentations on the M27 Junctions 3-4 widening

and Junctions 11-12 climbing lanes proposals and the work of the Area 3 Motorway

and Trunk Road Commission which includes Hampshire.

3. In addition the Committee also invited the British Airports Authority to attend its

meeting and received a presentation on an outline Master Plan for the Southampton

airport for public consultation developed in response to the Government White Paper

`The Future of Air Transport'.

3. Following the adoption of new working arrangements for scrutiny, as agreed by the

County Council in July, the Environment Policy Review Committee will in future be

replaced by the Environment and Transportation Policy Review Committee. That

process will begin during the autumn.
