Procurement Initiatives

Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

1. That approval be given to the projects to be undertaken through the

Framework for Major Schemes as identified in Appendix `1' of the

report to BLPP on 3 October 2006

2. Approval be given to the procurement initiatives implemented this year as set out in Appendix `2' of the report to BLaPP on 3 October 2006

3. Approval be given to the proposed procurement initiatives relating to:

a) Second Tier Framework Pilots (SME) - Extension to existing arrangement

b) Rowner Youth Service, Gosport - Extension to provide enhanced facilities

c) Burnham Copse School, Tadley - Amalgamation

d) Flat Roofing Framework - New procurement framework

e) Ramps & Hard Landscaping Framework - New framework

f) Temporary Buildings Term Contract - Extension

g) Portchester Community School - extension of existing contract for re-cladding; replacement windows and re-roofing

h) Swanwick Lodge Secure Unit - Refurbishment and enhanced facilities

i) Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College - Phase 2 Re-cladding

j) Parkway and Nuance Global House - office accommodation refurbishment

4. Approval be given to the extension of the Second Tier Framework (SME) arrangement until September 2007

Reason(s)

2.1

The completion of projects through Framework arrangements ensures that the schemes are delivered in a cost-effective way, involves closer working and collaboration with the construction industry which ensures continuous improvement in the Council's services and enhances the environment in Hampshire.
