Summary |
1.1 |
The following decision is sought: |
That rents charged in respect of County Council dwellings let to staff and other tenants be increased by 5% with effect from 1 April 2007. |
2 |
Reason |
2.1 |
It is County Council policy to review the level of rents charged to its residential tenants on 1 April each year, and it is proposed to do so in 2007. The proposed increase of 5% takes account of research undertaken into rises in the level of rents in both the public and private sectors. |
2.2 |
The proposal does not link to the Corporate Strategy, but a decision is required to ensure that an appropriate level of rental income is generated for use in the proper management of the County Council's residential estate. |
