1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
That the Project Appraisal to implement traffic management and pedestrian improvements at the junction of St Margaret's Lane with Coach Hill and Common Lane in Titchfield, and making permanent the trial traffic management measures at the junction of St Margaret's Lane with the A27 St Margaret's Lane Roundabout, at an estimated cost of £75,000, be approved.
2. Reason
2.1 This decision will provide a safer environment for all road users, especially at the junctions located at each end of St Margaret's Lane, and improve facilities for pedestrians.
3. Other Options Considered and Rejected
3.1 To provide a footpath along St Margaret's Lane was considered but rejected as there is insufficient road width or land available, and progression of this option was beyond the scope of the allocated budget and programme.
3.2 To do nothing would neither address the traffic management issues in this area nor the existing inadequate pedestrian provision.
4. Conflicts of Interest Declared by the Decision Maker or Other Executive Member Consulted - None.
5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee - None.
6. Reason(s) for the Matter being dealt with if Urgent - None.
