HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY CARE TRUST

1. The new Hampshire Primary Care Trust came into being on 1 October 2006 and is the largest Primary Care Trust in the Country. It covers the whole of the administrative County of Hampshire and aims to improve the health of local people, reduce inequalities in health and make sure people have access to safe, high quality health services.

2. The Chairman of the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee has been invited to attend and speak at all of the Trust's Board meetings.

3. The Chairman's opportunity to speak at Trust Board meetings will influence the services provided by the Trust and support the delivery of the Corporate Strategy aim of maximising well being.
