The following decision is sought.

1.1 That the Executive Member for Children's Services endorses the action being taken to manage the placement needs of children looked after.

This decision supports the following Hampshire County Council Priority:-

2.1 "Making Hampshire safer and more secure for all" - by securing best value for money and fitness for purpose placement provision for children looked after, and maintaining robust arrangements for the monitoring of purchased provision.

2.2 "Maximising well-being" - by continued attention to the development of a range of placements and the matching of needs to placement and service provision, including community based provision.

3.1 The proposals put forward are those that are consistent with the authority's responsibilities as a corporate parent to children looked after. Other options would not be consistent with these responsibilities.
