1 Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

1. That, in line with the agreed School Meals Strategy, the price of school meals is increased to £1.80 per meal from April 2007 to reflect the continued improved food and nutritional content of the meal.

2.1 This decision supports the following Hampshire County Council priority:

The decision supports the Corporate Aim of maximising wellbeing by providing school meals with an improved nutritional content.

3 Other Options considered and rejected:

3.1 Increasing the price beyond £1.80 to meet some of the impact of the Pay and Benefits Review. These issues are being explored by the Property, Business and Regulatory Services department and through further discussions with Headteachers. Proposals will be reported to Members.
