INTRODUCTION
Our Local Priorities
The Corporate Strategy brings together in one place, for staff, councillors, partners and residents, the main messages about what the County Council stands for and what we aim to achieve together.
The Corporate Strategy is a statement of our aims and how we intend to achieve them. It shows how the County Council responds to changes and challenges, identifies common aims with partners and sets priorities and targets for improvement.
ln July 2006 the Cabinet highlighted new priorities which originated from a number of sources, including local communities. We now have a new Corporate Strategy with three priorities has been which was launched in July with the banner statement "Looking after Hampshire, Looking Out for You".
It is important that progress towards achieving our key corporate priorities are monitored on a regular basis so that we can make adjustments to our plans and activities. However, for 2006/07, we are in transition from the targets in the old corporate strategy to those in the new strategy and corporate business plan. Therefore for this half year report, we have focused on key achievements and pressures identified by departments in their performance summaries.
National Priorities
The Government measures the delivery of its national priorities through a set of Best Value Performance Indicators. The Corporate Management Team have identified the key measures which are attached in Section 1 of this compendium.
Where results are reported as estimated they are marked with an `e'.
