County Farm Estate, Mattingley - Proposed Rationalisation of Tenancies

Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given to:

i)

ii)

rationalise the Mattingley Farm Estate and that Church Farm House and approximately 0.80 hectares of land be declared surplus to the County Council's requirements;

the Director of Property, Business & Regulatory (Head of Estates) being authorised to agree and settle the detailed terms and conditions for the transactions, with 25% of the net receipts to be used for capital improvements to the remaining Mattingley Estate.

Reason(s)

2.1

Through the rationalisation of tenancies on the Mattingley Estate the County Council, improved employment opportunities will be created and capital receipts generated from the sale of surplus property and it is proposed that up to 25% should be reinvested in Environmental improvements to the Mattingley Estate to facilitate the changes in the tenancies.

2.2

This proposal supports the Corporate Priorities by enabling continuing improvement of County Farm assets with better facilities and forming a Starter Unit for a new entrant into farming.
