Review of education provision for deaf and hearing impaired children

Proposed re-organisation of resourced provision in mainstream schools

ADDENDUM

Further to the consultation pack issued on 7 November, representations have been made that additional options should be included in Section 5 and Appendices 4 and 5 in the pack.

A purpose of the open consultation is to enable respondents to identify issues that you would wish the local authority to take into account when decisions are being taken, including consideration of additional options. As two additional options have been identified early in the consultation process, I believe that it would be helpful to invite you to consider these options when you make your views known.

I therefore enclose additional sheets setting out new Options 1c and 1d (Appendix 4), and a revised response sheet (Appendix 5) which includes these options. Section 5 should be read as including 1c and 1d.

The deadline for return of response sheets remains Friday, 5 January 2007.

I would also like to advise you that a report on the outcomes of this consultation will be considered by the Executive Member on 15 February 2007. This meeting will take place in The Castle at 10.00 a.m.

Yours sincerely

Eric Smith
