1 Summary

1.1 An application for financial assistance has been received from Charlotte Hancock of Fareham who is taking part in a four-month community project with a charity called TEARFund (a Christian based organisation based in this country whose main aim is to bring hope to some of the world's poorest countries). She will be helping out in the Working Girl's Centre in Bolivia which provides psychological, education and family support for young women who are currently living on the street. Last year, the project reached 450 girls, helping them to recognise their potential, return to school and give them opportunities to improve their quality of life.

1.2 Charlotte needs to raise £3,800 to cover her expenses. Further details have been sought from Charlotte about her costs and how much she has managed to raise towards this.

Recommendation: £150 subject to receipt of satisfactory application form
