1 Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
1. That the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services notes the report and success of the Hampshire Teenage Pregnancy Partnership work to date.
2. That a further report is submitted later in 2007 outlining the future of the Teenage Pregnancy Partnership, once details of the Comprehensive Spending Review 2007 are known.
2 Reason
2.1 This decision supports the following Hampshire County Council priority:
"Maximising well-being" - by evidencing how the work undertaken to date promotes emotional health and well-being of young people in Hampshire including a reduction in teenage conceptions, access to contraception and sexual health services and support for teenage parents. Any budget saving needs a careful risk analysis to ensure the strategy continues to be effective as we move towards the challenge of meeting the 2010 target.
2.2 The decision supports the following Aims of the Children Act:
(Being healthy;) by evidencing how the work undertaken to date promotes emotional health and well-being of young people in Hampshire including a reduction in teenage conceptions, access to contraception and sexual health services and support for teenage parents.
