251. CPA CORPORATE ASSESSMENT: SELF-ASSESSMENT

The Cabinet considered the report of the Chief Executive (Item 5 in the Minute Book) seeking approval of the fourth draft of the Corporate Assessment self-assessment for submission to the Audit Commission by 19 March 2007. This was further to initial consideration of the self-assessment on 26 February 2007 at which the Cabinet had expressed a number of views and comments. These were noted by the Chief Executive, and accordingly had been reflected in the fourth draft. In particular it was noted that there had been a significant review of the section on older people, in consultation with the Executive Member for Adult Services, in order to provide considerably more detail.

During the course of a full discussion the Cabinet advised some additional revisions. Subject to those revisions, on which Councillors Davidovitz, Felicity Hindson and Kirk would liaise with officers, the Cabinet adopted the recommendations set out in the report. In doing so, the Cabinet expressed their thanks to the officers involved in preparing the self-assessment. A copy of the decision sheet is attached to these minutes as Appendix 1.
