1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
That the 2007/08 Integrated Transport Capital Programme sub-programmes, set out below and in Appendices 1, 2 and 3 (attached), be approved:
(i) Pedestrian Crossings - £140,000 Local Transport Plan and £50,00 Externally Funded (Appendix 1);
(ii) Minor Works - £180,000 (Appendix 2);
(iii) Traffic Management Minor Schemes - £420,000 (Appendix 3);
(iv) Local Transport Plan Monitoring and Initiatives - £30,000 (Section 6)
Air Quality monitoring equipment in Fareham;
(v) Community Transport - £250,000 (Section 7)
Six new vehicle purchases in New Forest £180,000;
Two new vehicle purchases in Test Valley £60,000;
Wheels to work extension in East Hampshire £10,000;
(vi) Rail Stations and Interchanges £75,000 (Section 8)
Aldershot £4,000;
Andover £2,500;
Farnborough £40,000;
Havant £28,500; and
(vii) Access Partnerships - £100,000 (Section 9)
Accessibility Pilot in Whitehill, Bordon, Linford;
Access to healthcare in New Forest;
Access to rural post offices in Basingstoke and Deane.
2. Reason
2.1 Decisions made in relation to these sub-programmes of the Environment Capital Programme will support the Council's priorities. These programmes of minor works enable measures to be implemented which respond to the needs of local communities, will enhance safety and improve conditions for road users.
3. Other Options Considered and Rejected
3.1 Individual Hampshire Action Teams have considered options within their areas for the Minor Works Programme and recommend the proposals put forward in this report.
