This paper supports the Corporate Strategy (maximising well being) by ensuring effective RE within the curriculum.

Recommendations

    a) That SACRE notes the report and commends the innovative use of the agreed syllabus methodology in Park Community School.

Background

Park Community school's Values Education project that addresses citizenship and social, moral, spiritual and cultural education has embraced the methodology for teaching and learning from the agreed syllabus, Living Difference and applied it to the approaches to a whole school programme.

This oral report explains to SACRE how Park Community School has set about planning and teaching with a concept led, enquiry approach and shares its impact on pupils' learning.

This approach provides a useful model for other schools .
