Summary | |
1.1 |
A Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) course for secondary phase trainee teachers was established at Winchester University. It is now in its second year of implementation. Roz Sunley provides an oral report to SACRE about the progress and development of the course so far. | |
1.2 |
There is a national shortage of specialist RE teachers and this is reflected in Hampshire schools. This PGCE course provides qualified RE specialist teachers who can go some way towards redressing the balance. | |
1.3 |
This paper supports the Corporate Strategy (maximising well being) by ensuring children's provision in religious education is secure within the secondary phase supported by well qualified, specialist teachers. | |
